Being my first trip out into the wilderness since moving back to Oregon, to say the least, I was excited. Before I relocated from Colorado, I heavied up on photo adventures but permitted myself not to take photos while I was transitioning home. I headed out into the Willamette National Foreston the old logging roads. The weather was very overcast providing a beautiful soft light through the trees and vistas of the clouds overtaking the mountains. It felt like I had the entire mountain to myself. I didn't see another person all day.
It quite a different experience being back in the forest. I didn't realize how much I've missed these large trees. On the other hand, it presented a new set of challenges, how do I capture the essence of a forest? How do I focus on something so complex? I'm excited by these new challenges, and I'm excited to explore the woods and see what it has to offer.
