A simple stay at home day where we got all the Hotwheels out and launched them over and over. We later went to the park for a go at the slides before grabbing some lunch.

Picking Grapes

It wasn't until we noticed the sweet taste in the air, that the grapes in the yard were ripe for picking. The vines have been unkept for a few years and are beginning to take over the porch, so there was more than enough for our needs. We wanted to make homemade grape juice. After washing and destemming them, we ran them through a mill press to make our drink. The juice was sweet and vibrant but just a hair on the acidic side. In total, we ended up making nearly two gallons, what a fun experiment!
First Signs of Fall

I love the Fall, I mean I love all the seasons, but the Fall is special. When the air gets nice and crisp, it somehow feels fresher. Here are just a few things that caught my eye as I was taking the trash out. Also, this crazy woodpecker was trying to find a snack in our shed.
Solar Eclipse 2017

Being a photographer, it was hard for me to escape the hype around the eclipse; but I just wasn't that excited for it. I had a lot going on and wasn't able to plan out a trip. So I decide to let it go and share the moment with my son. Being located in Eugene Oregon, we were still going to be able to experience 99 percent totality. As the eclipse began, my excitement exponentially increased, and I ran into the house and grabbed my camera. I'm pleased with the results. These shots are not the typical shots of the eclipse, but something that I feel that makes them unique is how they captured the feeling of the moment.
Frozen Eugene
The Willamette Valley got hit pretty hard with a cold front. There was ice everywhere and destruction followed. Downed trees and power lines cause quite the havoc in Eugene; some people didn't have power for a week. One of the issues was the ice thawing during the day and refreezing at night. Here are a few pictures from around the house.
