With fall color in full swing, Ridley and I decided to make our way up into the woods to see what we could find. Unfortunatley, that also included some bad weather, but we didnt let that bring us down. I told Ridley that we were driving through the clouds and luckily that all we need to shift our aditudes back to fun. We didnt get out of the truck much because of the rain, but the color was quite lovley. The yellows popped of the deep evergreens with such vibrance. It was a really fun day!
Little Adventures
Little Adventures: Fun on the Farm
Another fun fall afternoon playing on the farm. The air is getting colder and the leaves are starting to change color. We even got another tour from the frindly little kitty.
Little Adventures: Pumpkin Patch
Around here in the fall, a few different local farms go the extra mile to get people to come out and buy fresh produce alongside with there pumpkins for Halloween. One of those tricks is adding activities great for children. One farm nearby, Thistledown, has taken that to heart. They built a small maze out of hay bails that are fully covered from the rain and has a couple of slides too. They also have a small petting zoo with sheep and goats and a rather large scale corn maze. Ridley and I went and spent a good couple hours playing and having fun. When we entered the corn maze, I put him in charge of making all the decisions about where we would go. Though we explored every possible option, including all the dead ends, he did get us out all by himself!
Little Adventures: Playing on the Farm
We had a fun afternoon playing and exploring the Grandparents farm. It didn't take long for our little group to pick up a third party member as we made our way around. It was nice to have this little four-legged guide to help show us the way. Ridley was super excited about his gum, though he swallowed it not too long after. I guess he wasn't too afraid of it being stuck in his tummy for seven years like I was when I was a kid.
Little Adventures: Wildlife Safari
Wildlife Safari is a wildlife sanctuary that's about an hour or so away from where we live. I have vivid memories of going there as a kid with my grandparents that I will cherish forever. I wanted to share with Ridley and make new memories of this place together with him. The variety of animals you can see is staggering and with not to much trouble at all, you can take pictures in a way that looks like you were in another country and not Oregon. After driving through the safari portion first, we got out and explored the on foot section, which is reminiscent of a zoo. Afer seeing some pretty exciting animals and creepy crawlers, we grabbed lunch in the cafe a family of lemurs just outside a large picture window. We opted to take the safari one more time before heading back home.
